Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth largest national park and one of the most accessible — just a 3-hour drive from Dar es Salaam. Often called the "Serengeti of the South," its open floodplains are home to impressive concentrations of wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and large hippo pools.

Famous for its tree-climbing lions, Mikumi is perfect for a quick yet rewarding safari escape from the city. It also serves as the gateway to the remote Selous Game Reserve, making it an ideal starting point for a southern Tanzania adventure.
