About Mount Meru

Mount Meru is a stunning volcanic peak rising to 4,566 metres — Africa's fifth highest mountain and one of Tanzania's most rewarding climbs. Located within Arusha National Park, just 70km from Kilimanjaro, it offers a spectacular and less-crowded alternative to its famous neighbour.

The 4-day climb takes you through lush rainforest teeming with colobus monkeys, giraffes and buffalo, through moorland and rocky ridges to the dramatic summit crater. From the top on a clear day, Kilimanjaro fills the entire horizon — a breathtaking reward for your effort.
