About Serengeti

The Serengeti is Tanzania's most famous national park and one of the world's greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Covering 30,000 km² of endless golden savanna, it is home to the largest animal migration on earth — over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 300,000 gazelles moving in a circular route across the plains.

Beyond the migration, the Serengeti offers exceptional year-round Big Five sightings, incredible predator-prey interactions, and some of Africa's most breathtaking landscapes. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and truly one of the wonders of the natural world.
